A   sacred grove   or   sacred woods   are any   grove   of trees that are of special religious importance to a particular culture. Sacred groves feature in various cultures throughout the world. They were important features of the mythological landscape and   cult practice   of   Celtic ,   Estonian ,   Baltic ,   Germanic ,   ancient Greek ,   Near Eastern ,   Roman , and   Slavic polytheism , and continue to occur in locations such as   India , Japan, and West Africa. Examples of sacred groves include the Greco-Roman   temenos ,   various Germanic words for sacred groves , and the Celtic   nemeton , which was largely but not exclusively associated with   Druidic   practice. Valentine's Day , also called  Saint Valentine's Day  or the  Feast of Saint Valentine , i s celebrated annually on February 14. I t originated as a Christian  feast day  honoring one or two early  Christian martyrs  named  Saint Valentine  and, through later folk traditions, has become a significant cultural, religious, and commercial celebration of  romance  and  love  in many regions of the world. There are a number of martyrdom stories associated with various Valentines connected to February 14, including an account of the imprisonment of Saint Valentine of Rome for ministering to Christians  persecuted under the Roman Empire  in the third century. According to an early tradition, Saint Valentine restored sight to the blind daughter of his jailer. Numerous later additions to the legend have better related it to the theme of love: an 18th-century embellishment to the legend claims he wrote the jailer's daughter a letter signed "Your Valentine" as a farewell bef

  Two general theories exist on the origins of yoga. The linear model holds that yoga has Vedic origins, as reflected in the  Vedic textual corpus , and influenced Buddhism; according to author Edward Fitzpatrick Crangle, this model is mainly supported by Hindu scholars. According to the synthesis model, yoga is a synthesis of indigenous, non-Vedic and Vedic elements; this model is favoured in Western scholarship.
